About Best Luxury Beauty
Best Luxury Beauty was built by David King — created because luxury skincare deserves better reviews. Most sites either gush about everything or dismiss premium products as overpriced vanity purchases. Neither approach helps you decide what to actually buy. This site takes a different path — honest analysis grounded in ingredient science, real customer experiences, and genuine respect for your budget.

About the Founder
I built Best Luxury Beauty to create the detailed, unbiased skincare comparison resource I wished existed. With a background in aerospace manufacturing management at Rolls-Royce — overseeing the build and assembly of complete jet engine sections for Airbus and Boeing aircraft — no decision was made without extensive data analysis. I apply that same data-driven approach here: every recommendation is backed by structured analysis of real customer experiences, ingredient science, and competitive benchmarks.
What We Do
Best Luxury Beauty reviews luxury skincare products with a focus on what actually works, not what brands pay to promote. The site covers 58 products across 10 categories — from budget-friendly serums to ultra-prestige creams. Every review includes real pros and cons, specific ingredient analysis, and honest verdicts on whether a product justifies its price.
Content includes detailed product reviews, head-to-head comparisons, buyer guides for specific skin concerns, and a knowledge base explaining the science behind active ingredients. If you are trying to build a skincare routine — or improve an existing one — the information you need to make confident purchasing decisions is here.
Review Philosophy
Three principles guide every piece of content published.
Ingredient science first. Products are evaluated based on their active ingredients, concentrations, and the published research supporting them. A serum with 15% L-ascorbic acid and ferulic acid has different evidence behind it than one with "botanical brightening complex." This site tells you which is which and why it matters.
Honest trade-offs. No product is perfect. Even top-rated picks have real downsides — and they get spelled out. A moisturizer that works beautifully but costs three times its nearest competitor gets that context. A budget serum that performs well but oxidizes fast gets called out for the shelf-life issue. Trust comes from honesty, not enthusiasm.
Value at every tier. Luxury skincare does not mean expensive skincare. Some of the most effective products in the catalog are priced under the cost of a decent lunch. Some of the most expensive products offer marginal improvements over mid-range alternatives. Value is analyzed relative to results, not just price tags.
Ratings reflect five factors weighted by importance: active ingredient quality and concentration (30%), real-world performance and results (25%), formulation technology and delivery (20%), sensory experience and usability (15%), and value relative to alternatives in the same category (10%). No product receives a perfect score — that would mean it has zero room for improvement, and nothing does.
How Products Are Selected
Products are selected based on three criteria. First, market relevance — products that real people are searching for and considering. Second, category representation — coverage across every major segment within luxury skincare so buyers can compare across the full range. Third, ingredient diversity — products representing different approaches (clinical retinoids, botanical formulations, peptide technology, fermentation-based skincare) so readers see the full spectrum of options.
Paid placements are not accepted. Brands cannot pay to be reviewed, and they cannot pay to influence a review's content or rating. Revenue comes entirely from Amazon affiliate commissions — a small percentage earned when you purchase any product through the site's links. This model means the incentive is to help you find the right product (you buy it) rather than any specific product (the commission is the same regardless of brand).
Affiliate Disclosure
Best Luxury Beauty is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click on a product link on this site and make a purchase on Amazon, a small commission is earned at no additional cost to you.
This affiliate relationship does not influence reviews, ratings, or recommendations. Products are recommended based on genuine value — whether priced in the budget tier or the ultra-prestige tier. The commission is the same percentage regardless of product price, so there is no financial incentive to steer toward more expensive options.
Price transparency. Amazon prices change frequently — sometimes daily. Exact prices are not displayed on this site because they would become inaccurate quickly. Instead, products are described in relative terms (budget-friendly, mid-range, premium) and always linked to Amazon where you can see the current price before purchasing. Every "Check Price on Amazon" button reflects the live Amazon price at the moment you click it.
Commitment to Accuracy
Skincare science evolves. New research is published, formulations change, and products get reformulated. Content is updated when the underlying facts change — not on a fixed schedule, but when accuracy demands it. Every page shows a "Last updated" date so you know how current the information is.
If a factual error is made, it gets corrected. If a product is discontinued or substantially reformulated, the review is updated. If new research contradicts a previous claim, it gets revised. Getting it right matters more than being first or being consistent with what was said last year.
